Software for your department. Clarity for your budget.
One annual license. A more connected community.
Know what RootParks costs, what your team gets, and which costs sit outside the software license. Start with a walkthrough of your own department—not a checkout screen.
Annual prices below are pilot-cohort software offers, billed annually. Monthly billing is also shown. Your written proposal confirms scope, taxes, support and additional costs before you commit.
Department software license
Starter
A focused department getting its catalog connected.
$100 department price + $6 payment fee. Processing comes out of that $6, not on top again. The department receives $100.
Higher license · No Root transaction markup
Resident pays about $103.30
$100 department price + processing recovery. At 2.9% + $0.30 on the total payment, the department receives $100; Root retains no transaction markup.
Illustrative domestic-card estimates, before tax. Rates and other processor or Connect costs vary. The agreement and checkout disclose applicable fees; passing fees through requires eligibility review. Existing subscriptions and accepted checkouts are not automatically repriced.
Your total cost, without the fine-print hunt.
1. RootParks license
The department pays its software license. The selected payment option determines the resident payment fee.
2. Payment processing
Residents cover processing. With 6/6 it comes out of the payment fee, not an additional charge. With no Root markup, checkout adds processing only.
3. Implementation & extras
Data migration, custom integrations, SMS allowances or overages, and enhanced support are scoped and priced in writing. They are not silently included or charged.
Already have a municipal payment processor?
Residents pay the department price plus a disclosed payment fee. The lower-monthly-cost option uses Root’s standard 6/6: $6 on payments up to $150, or 6% above $150. Processing comes out of that fee, not on top again. The higher-license option removes Root’s transaction markup, not processing: at a standard domestic-card estimate of 2.9% + $0.30, a $100 program totals about $103.30 so the department receives $100. Integrated payments currently use Stripe Connect. Actual rates, Connect costs, taxes, refunds and fee eligibility are confirmed before activation. Another municipal processor is not a supported plug-in today.
An annual license does not make every payment integration available. We confirm fit with your finance team before asking you to change a payment workflow.
A few practical answers.
What does annual transaction volume mean?
The value of department transactions managed through RootParks over the agreed annual measurement period—not the number of programs or residents. Your proposal specifies the measurement and refund treatment.
What if we outgrow a tier?
We review the appropriate plan and any prorated change with you. A usage threshold is not permission for an undisclosed price increase. Your written agreement defines notification and renewal terms.
Does “no platform percentage” mean payments are free?
No. Residents still cover processing. The higher-license option removes Root’s transaction markup, not the payment-processing fee. Checkout discloses the final total before payment.
How hard is it to switch?
Start with a reviewed catalog and one program or rental workflow. We agree the import scope, configure your policies, walk staff through their tasks, and validate the pilot before a wider rollout.
Is this an automatic free trial?
No. This is a guided department pilot. No card or payment-processor account is needed to discuss fit.
